Tennessees who have been vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna since October 25 and are classified in the following groups are eligible for additional vaccinations at least 6 months after the second vaccination.
- 65 years of age or older
- 18 years old or older living in a long-term care facility
- 18 years or older with underlying illness
- 18+ who work or live in a high-risk environment
According to the TDH announcement, people over the age of 18 who have received a single dose of the J & J vaccine are recommended to receive a booster dose at least 2 months after the initial vaccination.
Eligible individuals can choose which vaccine to inoculate as a booster dose.Not all types of vaccines are available on all sites and TDH recommends visiting Vaccine.gov To find out where they are offering their favorite COVID-19 vaccine.
The regional health department throughout the state administers COVID-19 booster doses. Booster shots are also available at pharmacies, clinics and other sites.
Earlier this week The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said certain Modana and Johnson & Johnson recipients are currently eligible For booster shots After approving the Pfizer Vaccine Booster last month. Authorities also approved additional doses of “mixing and matching,” regardless of which vaccinated person first received.
