Texarkana, Texas (KTAL / KMSS) – “Bramlett Beans and Cornbread” held its 23rd Annual Fundraising Luncheon at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center on Thursday.
This event will raise funds for the Christmas Basket Program, which will provide food baskets and Christmas gifts to families in need in the Texarkana area. This is a volunteer activity by cities on both sides of the state border.
People pay $ 5 for lunch at an event or donate six non-perishable foods.
“This year is the 30th year of the food basket drive, which began in 1991. There were five baskets in the first year, but now we have more than 100 baskets consistently every year.” Said the organizer, James Bramlett.
According to Bramlet, the fundraising event has the highest turnout ever and wants to be able to support 150 families this year.
Delivery to the family takes place one week before Christmas.
