A Miller County jury sentenced the two brothers to 10 years in prison on Wednesday after they were found guilty of rape involving a teenage boy.
Joseph Baker, 23, and Joshua Baker, 22, were both charged with two rape charges. The jury determined that they were guilty in 1 count and not guilty in 2 seconds.
Victims reported in 2019 that they had been sexually abused between the ages of 12 and 15 by siblings who lived with their parents a short distance from the victim’s parents’ home in Fouke, Arkansas. The siblings are about three and four years older than the victim. Victims reported that their siblings were teenagers when the abuse began and were adults when the abuse ended.
Deputy Prosecutor Connie Mitchell and Deputy Prosecutor David Cotton have charged the case. The brothers were represented by Texarkana lawyers Jake Potter and Josh Potter.
The brothers were free with a $ 30,000 bond. After the trial, both were detained.
