Oklahoma City (KFOR) – Seven years after adoption, 16-year-old Dax was told that he wouldn’t work.

But it wasn’t just a journey to find what Dax calls home.

Duck, who equates with them / their pronouns, has experienced the broken hearts faced by so many young people in foster care.

“It was great, but then they like … they no longer love me because they are LGBTQ, who I am,” Dax told Nexstar KFOR.

Dax dreams of finding the perfect family. “Probably a same-sex couple or someone who understands my situation well.”

Dax said he was looking forward to having a family who enjoyed going out and making memories.

“Going to places together, going on road trips, doing something together, going bowling, and all the family,” Dax said.

Dax loves chicken, so KFOR met a teenager at a Providence Farm in Edmond, Oklahoma. Dax not only raised chickens, but showed them to me, so I would like to keep a few chickens to raise again.

“I raised 26 small children,” said Dax. “They were born, and I was able to meet them when they were born.”

Teens also love going to school.

“It’s basically like an escape from my house,” Dax said.

But what Dax wants most is to find a family that loves them about who they are.

“Give me a chance,” said the teen. “I’m open-minded. I care about a lot of people.”
