A grand jury in Texarkana, Texas – Bowie County charged two men with murder last week for the death of a man in Texarkana.
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, Cedric Ballard paid $ 50 to Dark Ares “Smiley” McHenry to defeat 53-year-old Johnny Robinson at a house in 500 blocks of Melton Street.
Robinson allegedly sold cigarettes, beer, and marijuana for Ballard, who allegedly believed that Robinson had deceived him. McHenry, 33, is allegedly assaulting Robinson while Ballard, 51, is watching.
Witnesses reported that Ballard told McHenry: Go out and I’ll pay you. “
Police were called to a house on Melton Street on March 23. They found Robinson unconscious on the couch with blood bleeding from his nose and mouth. Robinson was fingerprinted by an investigator at the police station in Texarkana, Texas. He died on March 23 at a local hospital.
Robinson suffered from severe head trauma and spleen laceration.
Bond is set at $ 1 million for both Ballard and McHenry. Both are detained in Bowie County Jail.
If convicted of murder, a man faces 5 to 99 years or life imprisonment.
