Two popular local educators have moved to the Pleasant Grove Independent School District. Carla Dupley, and more recently the principal of Texas High, will be the deputy director of the new school. Matt Fry will leave LEISD to become Operations Director.
Pleasant Grove ISD Board Approves Carla Dupree’s Assistant Position

Pleasant Grove ISD, with 21 years of management experience, has recently been the principal of Texas High School for the past three years.

Dupley brings 26 years of educational status. Her career began in 1995 as an English and speech teacher at Queen City High School in Queen City ISD. From 2007 to 2014, Dupley was the principal of Queen City Elementary School, and from 2014 to 2017, Dupley was the principal of Queen City High School. Dupley moved to ISD, Texas in June 2017 to serve as Vice-Principal of Curriculum and Teaching, and in July 2018 Dupley became Principal of Texas High School. Dupree is a Board of Directors of the Texas Secondary School Principals Association (TASSP), a Region 8 TASSP Coordinator, and was elected to the 2020 TASSP Region 8 Principal of the Year.
Dupley holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Voice Communication from Stephen F. Austin State University. Dupree holds a Master of Education and Principal qualification from the University of Texas A & M Commerce. Dupley and her husband Scott have a son, Davis, who holds a BSN from Texas A & M University at Texarkana.
The Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Directors approved the position of Head of Operations for Mattfly at its regular board meeting on Tuesday, May 11. With 17 years of educational experience, Fry oversees day-to-day operations, including district maintenance and transportation.
Director Chad Piltor said: Fry has been a leader in the education and Texarkana region for many years. We are excited to bring his experience, leadership and energy to the Pleasant Grove Independent School District. We are confident that his leadership will have a positive impact on our ability to accomplish our mission of ensuring a high level of learning for all students. “
For the past nine years, Fry has been the Communications Director of Liberty-Eylau ISD.From
From 2007 to 2012, Fry taught at Liberty Eilau High School and was the District UIL Coordinator.From
From 2004 to 2007, Frey taught journalism, graphic design and Spanish at the Liberty-Eylau Middle School. In 2006, he received the Liberty-Eylau Campus Teacher of the Year Award.
Fry, a member of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA), has won the “Best in Category” in his design and marketing campaigns. Fry is a member of the Board and Advisory Board of Northside Church, Christian Athletes Fellowship, The Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club. Fry is President-elect of the Rotary Club of Wilbur Smith, President of the Liberty Eylau Fire Department, and a 2014 Leadership Texarkana class graduate.
Fry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Texas A & M University-Texarkana and a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. Matt’s wife, Amber, is a teacher at Pleasant Grove Middle School. Matt and Amber have two children, Mason (11) and Addison (12), both of whom are students of Pleasant Grove ISD.
