Texarkana, Texas-University of Texas A & M-Texas Parliament received a $ 45 million capital project budget from the 87th Texas Parliament during this week’s third call session. The funds allocated through Senate Bill 52 will be used to build a new academic building on the University’s Bringle Lake campus. The building will house the university’s business, engineering and technology programs.

“We are very grateful that the legislature has funded the construction of a new academic building on campus. As we continue to expand and expand our existing programs and add new learning programs, this new one. The facility will enable us to better serve our students, “said Emily Cutrer, president of A & M-Texarkana. “We are very grateful to the elected officials for helping us secure this funding,” Cutler added. “They were able to show Congress how valuable Texas A & M University-Texarkana is not just for the East Texas region, but for the entire state. We are skilled to meet the needs of today’s employers. This new academic building will help us continue to offer world-class academic programs to future generations. ”

The Prime Minister also thanked Governor Abbott for including higher education during the third special session this fall. SB52 is the first law since 2015 to address a comprehensive list of state public university capital projects.
