Texarkana, Texas (KTAL / KMSS) – The Texarkana Center in Bowie County, Texas has announced a contract and acquisition of assets from the Lone Star Rail Vehicle Storage Company. This move will scale TAC’s existing depots and enable them to work closely and efficiently with third-party logistics tenants.
This purchase sets TAC apart from other industrial estates. This is because TAC has the unique ability to own and manage tracks. This move is also expected to bring growth and economic development opportunities to the Texarkana region.
Scott Norton, Executive Director and CEO of TexAmericas Center, said:
The TexAmericas Center has owned the truck since 2010 and has been leasing the truck to Lone Star Railcar Storage since that date. The TexAmericas Center will be in control of the full operation of the railway system. This allows organizations to improve rail and marshalling yards with greater control over the movement of current and future tenant products.
The acquisition was completed at the end of October and the TexAmericas Center went into operation on November 1.
