Texarkana ISD has been selected for the System of Great Schools (SGS) network. As an SGS network district, TISD will work on a district-level problem-solving approach. It is used by district leaders to understand school performance and community needs and to provide the school that families want in the community. District leaders use the SGS strategy to extend what works, replace what doesn’t, and pursue all possible options to create a high-quality, optimal school. TISD joins 19 other school districts in Texas as part of the SGS network.

“We are very pleased that TISD has been selected for the SGS Network, and we believe this is an opportunity to create even greater opportunities for students throughout the school district,” said Dr. Doug Bull Baker, director of TISD. increase.

Texas school districts that participate in the SGS Network choose to participate in a four-year program led by the Texas Education Agency. This program provides school district leaders with strategic advice, professional learning opportunities, and access to tools and resources. The SGS Network District is committed to ensuring that all students have access to the best quality schools. SGS districts differ in size, composition, and performance level, but are united by the common goal of providing a school that families want, need, and deserve in the community.
