Patriotic Americans love the flag that represents our country. We have great respect for the national colors and those who have dedicated or sacrificed their lives under them. If the flag wears out or becomes tattered, you have the opportunity to dispose of it properly and politely on Saturday, December 6th.
A group of veterans and Boy Scouts of America hold these ceremonies on a regular basis. Do not throw away the flag. If you fold it as much as possible, put it in a plastic bag, and take it to the VFW, American Legion, or BSA Group, you’ll find that the proper disposal for the flag is done.
This solemn ceremony is sometimes held by Boy Scouts as a way to retire the American flag, which has served its purpose but is too far to continue to display.
If you have a flag that requires retirement, we welcome the Cad Area Council Scouts in Pack 3 to bring the flag and attend the ceremony with them on Saturday, December 6th. Red Rick Middle School 9 am.
