Oklahoma City (AP) — Top-seeded Texas slammed 8th-seeded West Virginia to stop their defeat at Friday’s Big 12 Conference tournament, scoring two goals in a double-down on the right field line of Cyrus Ardin Defeated 3-2.

The Longhorns will advance to the semi-finals and will face fourth-seeded Oklahoma on Saturday.

Texas (42 wins and 14 losses) drew 10 walks, struck out 14 times and hit only 3 hits against climbers. Ardoin’s hit was the first hit in his tournament and occurred on runners on second and third bases.

Previously, in the top of the 5th inning with counts 1-2 and 2 outs, left batter Matt McCormick drove a breaking ball to hit the field line on the left, scoring runners in 2nd and 3rd place, West Virginia. Leading the state 2-1.

McCormick finished 2-4 in a mountaineer’s end-of-season contest.
