Kyle Flood is reportedly tracking Steve Sarkian from Alabama to Texas.
ESPN reported Wednesday night that national champion Crimson Tide’s offense line coach Flood will join Austin’s Sarxian staff as an offense coordinator and offense line coach.
Sarkian was hired as a new head coach in Texas earlier this month, but in Alabama until Crimson Tide routes Ohio State University 52-24 at the College Football Playoff National Championships in Miami on Monday. I didn’t quit my job as an attack coordinator.Florida Garden
According to ESPN, Sarkian is expected to call the Longhorns play.
Floods have worked under Sarkian for each of the last four years. In 2017 and 2018, Sarkian was the Atlanta Falcons attack coordinator and Flood was the club’s assistant attack line coach. For the past two years, Flood has been on the offensive line mission of Sarxian and head coach Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa.
Flood, 49, was the head coach of Rutgers University from 2012 to 2015. He set 27-24 records and three bowl appearances in his four seasons.
Prior to leading Scarlet Knights, he was an assistant coach at CW Post, Hofstra and Delaware, and then an assistant coach at Rutgers from 2005 to 2011.
The Longhorns were 7-3 in just the end of the season, including Colorado’s 55-23 rout at the Alamo Bowl. Tom Harman, who played 32-18 as Texas head coach, was fired on January 2, including a 4-0 bowl record for four seasons.
