The Area’s Largest One-Day Adoption Event and Pet Expo Returns – Tampa, Florida

Tampa, Florida 2022-05-17 16:58:54 –

Manatee County, Florida (May 11, 2022) – The 6th Adopt-A-Palooza will take place on Saturday, May 21st at the Bradenton Area Convention Center in 1 Haven Boulevard, Palmetto. Business hours are from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission and parking are free.

Adopt-A-Palooza is Manatee County’s largest one-day pet transfer and expo-style event with over 100 pets from Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS), local shelters, and animal rescue teams. I will introduce it under one roof. Participating adoption organizations include the Manatee County Humane Society, Dog Drifter, Moon Racer Rescue, Cat Depot, Lakewood Ranch Humane Society, and Barking Outlaus Rescue.

For MCAS pets, all adoption costs are exempt in exchange for donating to the Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS). Residents of Manatee County will need to license a new pet for an additional $ 20 tag fee. All pets use contraceptive or neutering surgery, vaccination, and microchips.

Family-friendly events include a marketplace with over 30 retail vendors selling a variety of products and services, including vendors for pet owners.

This year’s new release from Manati County Nimal Services is a free pet vaccine and microchip clinic. Pet owners with dogs and cats who need vaccinations or microchips can take their pets to the event and receive them for free. This free clinic is offered on a first-come, first-served basis from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

“Since the hurricane season is almost here, free pet vaccines and microchip clinics help pet owners prepare,” said Sarah Brown, chief of the Animal Services Department. “This event is a really fun example of what can happen when the community works together to help homeless animals in Manatee County and the surrounding area.”

Revenue from the event benefits friends of Manatee County Animal Services. FoMCAS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that functions as a funding department. Its mission is to work with Manatee County Animal Services to enrich the lives of animals in shelters by raising funds to provide additional resources, medical care and heartworm. process. The funds raised by FoMCAS will be used directly to support animals in shelters and to support initiatives in shelters such as dog beds, playpen lawns, reinforced items, crates and medical care.

“We are excited to co-sponsor Adopt-A-Palooza,” said Kassandra Zess-Pagel, President and CEO of FoMCAS. “And even if people don’t want adoption, I hope they attend the event to help us help the animals in our county.”

On the day of the event, the Palmetto Adoption Center on Palmetto’s 305 25th Street West will not be open to the public. The Cat Town Adoption Center at 2166th Avenue East in Bradenton is still open and adoption fees apply to all cats there. The Bishop Animal Shelter (for lost and found pets) on 57181st Avenue West in Bradenton is open during normal business hours. Reservations are prioritized in all locations, but we will accept carry-on if possible. Animal services can be reached at 941-742-5933.
