Georgetown, Kentucky (LEX 18) — A large number of people gathered in Georgetown on Sunday to help the family of 15-year-old Christopher “CJ” Gordon, who died of COVID-19 three days ago.

Cornhole benefits began at 2pm in honor of the CJ hosted by Tipsy Cowber

Income from a $ 15 entry fee to participate in a cornhole tournament, sale of raffle tickets, and 50/50 pots will be donated to the Gordon family.

In addition to helping pay for medical and funeral expenses, organizer and family friend Ronnie Ruppy has Gordon’s parents and family standing behind them to help them through a tragic loss. He said he wanted the event to show that he was doing it.

“We are here because they are our family and our friends. This is the purpose,” Rupee said.
