The Capitol riot was shameful. So is impeachment. – Twin Cities

2021-01-13 06:50:45 –

Thousands of Trump supporters have protested the election’s finding that fraudulent voting has not been thoroughly investigated. A few almost peaceful protesters raided the Capitol and invaded the parliamentary chamber. This shameful behavior can never be tolerated by anyone.

Democratic leaders have already admitted and are trying to impeach President Trump, who has about a week left in office. The Democratic impeachment effort is mean and equally shameful, which will further divide the country. This is not what America should be.

Talk about the points of the story

Sunday’s “Gang Violence, Not Gun Violence” letter writer sought to blame the writer of the January 7 letter “Solution” for using “Points of Tired Stories of Gun Control Crowds.” Not true. The letter used facts, and the authors of today’s letter used the issues of NRA, the lobby of guns.

He sought to imply that gangsters and people suffering from mental illness were the cause of most gun violence. The United States has less per capita mental illness than other developed countries, but the death toll from gun violence is overwhelming.

In Minnesota, about 78% of gun deaths are due to suicide, most of which are white citizens throughout the state. Yes, contrary to the writer’s claim, gun suicide is gun violence. More than a dozen states have passed the Red Flag Bill. Domestic violence and suicide have reduced gun deaths in these states. Gun deaths have also decreased in many states that have passed background checks for all gun sales. The majority of gun owners and about 90% of the population have expanded their gun safety bills associated with background checks.

Sadly, the Republican Party of Life, which controls the Minnesota Senate, reiterates that they will not consider these life-saving bills.

how? Good …

Social media and mass media are flooded with questions about how the protests took place last week. Really?

For the next decade, most of the United States has been denied livelihoods, meaningful education, mental comfort, medical procedures, family milestone celebrations, and all entertainment. In some lucky states that allowed them, you can see that the sky hasn’t fallen.

I go to work 38 miles past the burnt rubble near Chicago. There, “protesters” are still in control of the permanent security booths they have built around their neighborhood, claiming protection to drive on public roads. .. My armed boss is still sleeping in the store, and it continues to be destroyed. I don’t know if I have a job to go weekly. He is still looking for a job as my husband’s employer has been lacking in our child’s time since the governor’s ever-changing mission closed last spring.

Elected officials say, “We are together,” without sharing our difficulties. Calls to their office are filled with recordings and communications only evaluate auto attendants. Meanwhile, they try to buy our pacifism for $ 600 at a time. It will be less than $ 1 a day after tax. I am one of the millions who believe that our lives and freedoms are worth more.

No doubt anymore

Last week’s astonishing event in Washington, DC, was triggered by an equally astonishing scene of a failed US president driving a crowd of violent enthusiasts into a riot, to the Democratic Party in the four years before Trump. Is a proper compilation of attacks. management.

Encouraging violence against their followers in an attempt to impose their political will and retain power that cannot be maintained in ballot boxes is a well-established trademark of the Despot. But this anguish has taken us to unprecedented lows in the United States since the Civil War.

Since the election, I’ve been wondering if Mr. Trump will really go down in history as the worst president. The question is no longer suspicious.
