Collective Kitchens + Cocktails proudly advertises as OKC’s first food hall. The concept is quite new to the city, and the collective opened in 2019, just before the parlor, but it’s an easy-to-understand place. With the convenience and versatility of a food court, there are local operators, the atmosphere is better than the interior of the mall, and frankly, better food. Aside from Michael Scott, not many people really make a joke about Sbarro.

As a result, it is customized for parties struggling to agree on a meal destination. Each person can visit a different restaurant or combine cocktails, wines, a wide variety of beers, etc. to suit their tastes and reconvene with spoiled ones.

If you are solo or the taste of your group is sympathic, it may not be a draw in theory.

On the other hand, while the food truck is still touring the metro, I’ve driven more than 10 miles to visit Phille Me Up Cheesesteaks, so these days I basically have a big flashing light in my mental head. -Up-display whenever you look at Midtown. A finely chopped mixture of steak and grilled onions is a great sandwich when stuffed in soft bread and sprinkled with cheesy goo (sorry, “with”), but for a taco with a little provolone and garlic aioli. Checking the various menu options online before visiting can be an effective time saver, as it can be busy.

But at noon on a cloudy Wednesday, I made The Collective almost my own and could choose anywhere with a drink of Conley Coffee Co.’s cinnamon mocha. It’s good to have options to reflect the raison d’etre of this facility.
