Lexington, Kentucky (LEX 18) —Federal artists have set up a shop at the Waveland Historic Site in the Kentucky Craft Outdoor Market.

Hosted by the Kentucky Arts Council, they showcased the work of local shops and artists.

The mansion was open for a walkthrough and people could enjoy music from local groups.

“I’ve been to many art shows throughout Kentucky, and this is what I’m really happy with. People’s calibers and how they treat you here, and really here. The caliber of art in. Because it’s Kentucky. It’s a crafted guild, so you can see that it’s better quality, “said gourd artist Bonnie Drake.

Drake has been making gourd art for 25 years, and at one point he says he was growing 10,000 gourds for use and sale solely for art.
