The country has recently been captured in a search for Gabby Petit, a 22-year-old woman who went missing during a cross-country trip with her fiancé, 23-year-old Brian Laundry.
Police nominated Laundrie as a person interested in her disappearance after Petito was reported missing over the weekend. He returned to his home in Florida on September 1, and has since refused to talk to police or work with investigators.

Petito and Laundrie spent weeks traveling and hiking in Utah’s national and state parks.

August 12 incident
On Thursday, the Moab police station released a body camera footage showing police officers talking to Petit and Laundry after pulling a van near Arches National Park.
In the video, Petit was emotional and she and her fiancé told executives that they were “fighting all morning.”
Laundry also told police that the two were fighting. There were scratches on his face, he said, due to a physical conflict with Petit.
Police refused to prosecute in this case, and when the couple agreed to spend the night in different places, they classified it only as a “mental health crisis.” Police say Petit stayed in the van while Laundry was getting a hotel room.
“They fell in love and were engaged in getting married and didn’t want to see anyone charged with the crime,” an officer wrote in a report on the case.

Investigating another murder case
