Tulsa, Oklahoma — Today, Muscogeee Nation announced the new name for the former Cancer Treatment Center of America Building.
The new name is Council Oak Comprehensive Healthcare. The tribe held a naming ceremony to celebrate the news.
“Today is a great day for the Muscorgie Creek nation,” said tribal chief David Hill.
Muscogeee Nation is breathing new life into the former American cancer treatment center. They said their health care system considered buying a building shortly after the US cancer treatment center announced its closure. On June 10, the tribe allowed the Mascorgination Health System to pursue purchases.
The tribe has leased 20 acres of camp since June 15.
“We plan to close the store in the next few weeks, so hopefully sooner or later.”
Sean Terry, director of health at Mascorgie Nation, said.
A $ 40 million facility is set to open next week, Terry said. We provide outpatient services including emergency medical care, HIV and hepatitis clinics. After that, we will gradually add specialized services such as neurology, cardiology, and orthopedics. He said hospitalization services are scheduled to begin early next spring, treating patients with long-term effects of COVID-19 and alleviating the bed shortage experienced by their health system due to a pandemic.
“Once the room is fully open, you will have access to the intensive care unit. Whether you are a pulmonologist or all other specialists, you will have access to the intensive care unit here in town. Take a very sick COVID patient, “said Terry.
According to Terry, the facility also has 156 hotel rooms that could be used to quarantine COVID-19 patients.
“If you need to isolate people away from your family, you can provide it,” he said.
