Washington (AP) — The Biden administration has taken the first step to require almost all foreign visitors to the United States to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, White House officials said.
This requirement will come as part of the government’s step-by-step approach to relaxing restrictions on foreigners traveling to the country.
The timeline has not yet been determined, as the Inter-Ministry Working Group is studying how and when to travel safely to resume a regular trip.
Ultimately, all foreigners entering the country are expected to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to enter the United States, with a few limited exceptions.
Reuters report The White House has discussed with airlines how to implement the policy of requesting vaccines from foreign tourists.
According to CNN, the Biden administration is approaching lifting some foreign travel restrictions before the delta variant surges.
