For safety reasons, Pat and his daughter Shelby Timmons decided that grandmother and granddaughter should meet through a glass door.

“I just-my heart just melted. I saw this little baby, and I saw my daughter, we were both weeping,” Pat said. I recall.

“It was like the saddest and happiest days of my life,” Pat said. “I was very sad because I couldn’t hug and touch her, but I was very happy that she was here, and she was healthy.”

It wasn’t the way the two were supposed to meet. Pat was supposed to be with Shelby at the hospital, but Maeve’s March 16th birthday came just as everything began to lock down.

“It was like 24 hours-everything just flipped over!” Shelby recalled.

As a result, the family was initially virtually connected via Facetime.

“She wants to see your new grandson? And I just shed tears, and I had people around me in the office and I had my phone-and nobody Showed me! “Pat laughed.

When it was time to meet in person, my mother and grandmother decided it was the safest through the glass. It wasn’t an easy decision for the family, but they say it was the right decision.

About six weeks later, Pat was finally able to grab the mabe. Now, more than a year later, she can visit as many times as she wants. She says this year was a difficult year, but her first grandson was the light at the end of the tunnel.
