Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – Some thieves tried to rob local veterans, but they didn’t work and only offended them. Veteran Mike Perez owns a smoker sitting outside the VFW Post 6216 away from Bridge Boulevard. He uses it for catering and VFW events.

At 2:30 am on Thanksgiving, two thieves appeared on the truck and tried to take it off. They hooked the trailer on their hitch and tried to get rid of it. What they didn’t notice was that a very strong chain was wrapped around and both VFW flagpoles were kept strong.

The thief gave up and left, but damaged the trailer on which the smoker was sitting. Members didn’t know what had happened until they checked the camera. “We have some mixed feelings. It’s a non-profit organization, a veterans club, I myself am a member here, we help our community and make veterans I’m trying to help, “perez said.

If you know who they are, you will be asked to call the Albuquerque police.
