Kenosha Harmony Fest @ Pennoyer Park Bandshell (3601 7th Ave., Kenosha), 6pm

New Orleans trumpeters Shamarr Allen and The Underdawgs are providing music for the event with the goal of regaining peace and harmony in Kenosha. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

The payments you can make to the platform will raise awareness and funding of the Kenosha Education Foundation and Kenosha COR – Coalition Resolution. Shamarr is a role model and pioneer of “Trumpet is my weapon” (trumpet and gun exchange program). This program allows a child at risk to point a gun at the police in exchange for a trumpet. The program has become a snowball with great support from the New Orleans music community. Thousands of dollars and musical instruments were donated there to keep the guns away from the street.

Peter Mulvey @ South Shore Farmers Market (2900 S. Shore), 10am

Peter Mulvey’s mom helped me find this event, so it’s appropriate for him to return to the old springboard. With 19 albums and an annual holiday lamplighter session, Mulvey never surpasses his raise.

As he says, “When I play at the farmers market, it can be one of the most transcendental musical experiences. I think I know why: that gig. Is 8000 years old. I’m no longer Peter Malvey. I’m a musician where farmers brought food and people came to buy it. I have dogs and I have kids. Play “Rubber Duck, You’re One”. I have an elderly person. Play “It’s Only Paper Moon”. “

If you’re lucky, Malbay may not only pay tribute to his slow-running companion Kelly Joe Phelps, but also preview songs from his next album on SistaStrings, Love is the only thing,

Strawberry Festival, Cedarburg, noon at the shop in Cedar Creek Village (N70 W6340 Bridge Road).

Held in downtown Settlement and Cedarberg, this free family-friendly festival features strawberry food and desserts, grilled specialties, wine, craft booths, shopping and kids activities.

The 14 Grammy Award winners have collaborated with Alison Krauss, Earl Scruggs, Ray Charles and others. His sound “incorporates elements of country, bluegrass, rock, jazz, blues and Celtic into his unique musical vision.”
