Cleveland (WJW) – FirstEnergy On Friday evening, we confirmed that thousands of customers were out of power due to a fire.

The fire broke out at a substation near E.55th Street. When the crew is on site and the fire goes out, repairs will begin.

As of 7:55 pm, 3,251 Cleveland customers and 1,224 Cleveland Heights customers are unpowered.

FirstEnergy officials expect most customers to recover power by 9 pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
