Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) — A release from extreme heat is approaching, but it seems to sacrifice stormy weather overnight. As a result, the NewsChannel 5 Weather Team will call the Storm 5 Alert from midnight Sunday to 6am. ..

In front of the cold front, storms occur all day long north of the region. As this front approaches overnight, strong storms pose a threat of severe storms throughout the display area.

Wind damage is a major concern when storms pass, but isolated reports of flash floods are also possible. Secondary threats are mainly hail and tornadoes from West Kentucky and Stewart counties to southern Henry and northern Benton counties in Tennessee.

South Dickson County and the South and West regions of Tennessee are at slight risk of stormy weather in Kentucky and southern Calloway County (two out of five). Due to its small risk up to Interstate Highway 65, much of Central Tennessee is under the marginal risk of stormy weather (1 in 5).

The line will move to the northern county around midnight, travel the entire area overnight, and from here after 6 am.
