Pittsburgh (AP) —A car crashed into a building containing a Pittsburgh plasma center, killing three people and injuring two, officials said.
Pittsburgh Public Security Director Wendell Hisrich confirmed the deaths on Saturday, saying two others were injured and one was seriously injured. He said firefighters and emergency medical personnel were also treated.
Police, fire and emergency medical services responded after a collision with the Biomat USA Plasma Building in Manchester at around 11:30 am on Saturday. According to Hisrich, the fire brigade extinguished the flames after the crash.
Hisrich said one of the murderers was still in the car of the building. He said he didn’t know if the other two killed were in the car and out, or in the building and struck. He said it was unknown how many people were inside at the time of the crash.
Investigators were recording the scene inside the car, and workers were trying to stabilize the severely damaged building so that the car and the victims could be removed, Hisrich said. Police interview donors and workers inside and provide counseling services.
Authorities are trying to review the video, talk to witnesses, and get a background on the driver, Hisrich said.
