The thunderstorm blew around 7:30 pm
Portland, Oregon (KOIN) – A thunderstorm vortex broke out in Willamette Valley and southwestern Washington on Monday night. Multiple heavy rains and strong cells developed through the hills of Clark County, causing heavy rains to flood the city around Portland.
One cell moved north through the battleground, creating the possibility of a tornado, and then issuing a heavy thunderstorm warning to the Jacolt area.
NS National Meteorological Service As heavy rains covered local streets, we issued flood advisories to parts of Portland’s Portland metro area.
All warnings and recommendations have expired or been lifted.
Viewers took a video and contacted KOIN 6 News with a visual report of possible tornado activity. However, confirmation from the National Weather Service will only be made after the investigation on Tuesday.
Clark County PUD said it has about 75 customers without electricity. The crew is at the scene where fallen trees and power lines are working to restore electricity to those affected.
KOIN 6 News will get more information as it evolves.
