Corpus Christi, Texas — The Truzo Midway ISD Board of Education will meet again on Tuesday to discuss the fate of district director Rick Fernandez.
The board has chosen not to take action against Fernandez during the executive session on Friday night.
On Tuesday, TMISD board members will discuss Fernandez’s future with the district for the fourth time.
No action was taken in the last three meetings.
A school district lawyer said the board had suspended Fernandez because of concerns about her ability to perform her duties.
Others say they believe that Fernandez was in retaliation for exposing grade tampering and improved the class rankings of certain students.
“If you’re going to bring Dr. Fernandez back, I’ll bring him back,” said former TMISD employee Janny Anguiano. “But we need to keep him at a high standard in this area. If they are going to end him, do so. Let’s move. This area needs to be healed.”
