Wal-Mart launched Project Gigaton in 2017 with the aim of inspiring suppliers to reduce upstream and downstream (cross-shelf) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the global supply chain. Specifically, Project Gigaton’s goal is to reduce CO by 1 billion metric tons or 1 gigaton.2 Emissions from the global supply chain by 2030.
India Count also supports Wal-Mart’s commitment to sustainable textiles, recyclable / sustainable packaging, and the implementation of the HIGG index. The company will continue to work to help achieve its goal of becoming a Wal-Mart rehabilitation company, the media release said.
