Tornadoes touch down in western Kansas Tuesday night near Cimarron and Sharon Springs – Wichita, Kansas

Cimarron, Kansas (KSNW) – A violent storm passed through Kansas on Tuesday night. KSN Storm Track 3 Meteorologist Erica Page and photojournalist Scott Dietz caught a tornado on Storm Tracker 3 east of Cimarron and west of Dodge City.

Also, KSN Storm Tracker Robert Clayton shot a video of the storm and tornado.

In Sharon Springs, Wallace County, a tornado landed around 6:30 MDT, damaging golf course carts and maintenance sheds. The power line was also damaged.You can see Click here for a video of the tornado on YouTube.

The KSN Storm Track 3 Meteorological Team also received many strong wind reports from the storm.

  • 3 WSW Balko – Beaver Co., Okla. – 60 mph gust
  • 3 E Iuka – Pratt – Gust of 75 mph
  • Wesker-Wallace-Quarter-sized hail
  • 3 W Campus – Gove Co. – 1/2 mile utility pole storm wind damage removed for Oakley

A wind capsized a cicada on an eastbound I-70 near Oakley in Logan County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the trailer had flipped over on the driver’s side. Semi’s 47-year-old driver was taken to Logan County Hospital to check for injuries. Traffic was routed to US83 and US40 and returned to I-70 for some time.
