Honolulu(Hawaii News Now) – A man visiting Hawaii from the mainland died on Tuesday morning after being stabbed in Waikiki.
The incident occurred before 12:45 am at Kuhio Beach near the statue of Prince Kuhio.
Richard Prehanov recorded part of the argument he said led to the murder. A man in a hat is depicted trying to stop the 22-year-old, who died while exchanging words and low-key gestures with the people in the group. A few seconds later, a quarrel broke out.
A man from Las Vegas was stabbed twice in the chest, according to Hawaii police sources.
“The fight has been messed up. Everyone is fighting,” Prehanov said.
He said he immediately stopped recording and called 1911. “It was terrible.”
Bystanders CPRed the man until police arrived.
On Tuesday afternoon, the crime tape disappeared and Kuhio Beach was once again busy. Many tourists did not know what had happened.
“That’s terrible,” said Igor Klapach.
The Kaimuki man was one of the few to hear about the crime.
“It’s not surprising, especially in this area,” said Sam Jones.
Hawaii Visitor Aloha Society supports male families living on the mainland.
