SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The table is set as one of Sacramento’s most iconic fundraising activities. Tower Bridge Supper raises funds for the cause and builds relationships within a community renowned for farm-to-folk-style dining.
UC Davis Health Executive Chef Santana Diaz said:
Looking up the recipe for this year’s Tower Bridge dinner, Diaz remembered that his Farm-to-Fork Festival favorites were canceled by COVID last year.
“I was very disappointed when I just started a meeting with the team last March,” he said.
Diaz brings his experience to the table. He changed the hospital diet. With thousands of meals prepared daily by his staff, we prioritize fresh produce from local farmers.
He will get some help from other chefs, as well as preparing more than 800 dinners for iconic fundraising. The chef was chosen in 2020, but that year Representing.
“It’s clear that there’s a hospital network of Santana chefs in an era of heavy medical reliance. When many of us looked at grocery stores like touchstones, we had Raley’s executive chefs,” Visits. Sacramento’s Kari Miskit said.
Other restaurants offered outdoor dining and takeaway options, but had few dining options. This year, Chef Diaz has abandoned the tradition of menus.
“We have a surprise all-food plant-based dish for the first time at Tower Bridge dinner,” she said.
This event, which leads to the Farm to Folk Festival, attracts more than 100,000 people in the area. Organizers want this year’s guest list to be as diverse as the food in front of them.
“Our sponsors have a great opportunity to join Visit Sacramento this year to prioritize diversity, fairness and inclusion, including who to invite to the table,” Miskit said.
“What I want people to be able to do is get rid of what food really is, in relation to what comes from understanding that transparency of the source is important.” Said Diaz.
Public ticket information will be announced on July 15th at FarmToFork.com. All Farm-to-Fork events, including the Farm-to-Fork Festival at Capitol Mall, will resume this September.
