Honolulu (KHON2) —Wind trade continues tonight and slowly declines for the next few days. The fairly typical trade winds weather lasts until Thursday, with rain on the windward and Mauka areas, especially in the evenings and early mornings.
Surface valleys develop near the island on Thursday nights and slowly move west on Friday and Friday nights. This brings a moist trade wind condition, especially to the upwind sections of small islands.
As the trough moves west, a slightly damp wind pattern, more typical than the normal trade wind pattern, returns on weekends and trade returns to a refreshing level.
Trade will strengthen to even more windy levels early next week and will continue to be more moist than normal.
