Honolulu, Hawaii 2021-11-29 16:55:00 –
According to the Hawaii Department of Transportation, night closures for resurfacing operations along parts of Ala Moana Boulevard will begin today from 7 pm to 5 am on Tuesday.
The closure is scheduled to take place every night for five weeks between Kamake Road and Queen Road, including one direction at a time. State officials said backflow would allow Ala Moana’s traffic to be maintained in both directions.
The details of the closure are as follows:
>> Daily from 7pm to 5am, from today to Monday: The eastern Ala Moana Boulevard between Queen Street and Kamakee Street will be completely closed.
>> From Sunday, December 5th to Friday, December 17th, every night from 7pm to 5am: The westbound Ala Moana Boulevard between Kamakee Street and Ward Avenue will be completely closed.
>> Tuesday, January 4th to Friday, January 14th, every night from 7pm to 5am: The eastern Ala Moana Boulevard between Ward Avenue and Kamakee Street will be completely closed.
Electronic bulletin boards notify drivers of closures and detours, and on-site special-duty police officers assist in safety and traffic control. The Bus and first responders have been notified of closure and are not allowed to pass.
All road construction will be done as long as the weather permits.
