A transit ambassador was stabbed after a discussion at MBTA’s Copley Square station in Boston on Thursday afternoon.

Traffic police said the man was detained in connection with a stab injury that occurred around 1:15 pm.

Transit ambassadors who are not MBTA employees are in serious but stable condition at local hospitals.

According to MBTA, police activities are currently bypassing Copley on green line trains in both directions.

According to its website, MBTA introduced the Transit Ambassador Program in 2017. Transit ambassadors wear bright red polo shirts, sweaters, or jackets with the T logo and can be found at stations throughout the system. Helps riders buy tickets and passes and provide real-time travel information.
