Sweden’s Trelleborg has signed an agreement with Innovate Composites to distribute tool solutions in New Zealand using the dust-free tool material TC760X. This partnership will enable the development of a stable supply chain within New Zealand, providing customers with locally available inventory, country-based knowledge and a high level of local support.

The TC760X is a low density syntactic epoxy tooling board designed to facilitate direct tooling to parts. Excess products are stripped off with large flakes rather than dust, significantly reducing machine residues. In a press release by Trelborg, the TC760X retains its shape at high temperatures, minimizing cracks and chipped edges. This virtually eliminates the need for finishing and requires only four coats of sealant.

“Treleborg’s Applied Technology business has a proven track record of supplying very high quality tool materials. The partnership with Trelleborg allows Innovate Composites to be at the forefront of tool innovation, a much shorter lead. We can provide a variety of proven solutions in time to raise the bar in the industry, “said Chris Mellow, director of Innovate Composites. In the statement.

“We are very pleased to be able to employ Innovate Composites as a distributor in New Zealand. The agreement initially covers our three tool materials, EP678, EP700, and TC760X, and is available locally to improve downstream processing. Supports the requirements for materials that are easy to machine in. Kelly Lions, Business Development Manager for the Applied Technology business at Trelborg in Rochdale, UK, said:
