Trevor Story hit two home runs, with Connor Joe and Sam Hilliard deep in, and the Colorado Rockies defeated the Chicago Cubs 6-5 in Denver Thursday.
Joe and Story, Lymel Tapia, and Brendan Rodgers all made two hits in Colorado.
Tyler Kinley (2-2) retired one batter to win, and Daniel Bard was a perfect 9th place, winning his 17th save of the season.
Rafael Ortega and Frank Schwindel each scored two hits, while Jake Jewell (0-1) lost in one inning of the Cubs.
Colorado built an early lead by scoring a single run in the first four innings against starter Jake Arrieta. The story hit Solo Homer once, and Joe hit the third solo shot of the season.
The Rocky Mountains added another single with a third single by Tapia, Rogers and Ryan McMahon, and Hilliard hit seven home runs on his fourth 468-foot shot to lead Colorado 4-0.

Chicago wiped it out for the fifth time after starter Antonio Senzatela made two outs. Pinch hitter Andrew Romine put the runner in the corner with a single, and Ortega drove Fergus with a single.
Willson Contreras doubled off the top of the wall with a right fielder and drove at 2, and Ian Happ tied to the left with a single to finish the day at Senzatela.
Senzatela made his first start since being on the COVID-19 injured list for 10 days, giving up four runs with seven hits in 42/3 innings.
The Rocky Mountains are back in one-fifth soon. Rogers led the single, and the story hit a second home run of the day and season 15, raising Colorado to 6-4.
The Cubs regained one in sixth when David Bote led the double and scored with Schwindel’s single.
