Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (AP) —President Donald Trump’s campaign has withdrawn the central demand for a lawsuit to suspend proof of election results in Pennsylvania.

Prior to Tuesday’s hearing in the case, Trump’s campaign demanded that hundreds of thousands of mailings and absentee ballots (682,479 to be exact) be destroyed because they were processed without the supervision of a representative. Withdrawn.

An amended proceeding of the campaign filed in federal court on Sunday maintains the purpose of preventing Pennsylvania from proving Biden’s victory in the state, and Democratic voters are treated better than Republican voters. Maintains the claim that it was.

The campaign still claims in a lawsuit that hundreds of thousands of votes were not properly processed.

“Our proceedings in Pennsylvania have absolutely caused the issue of secretly counted 682,479 mailings and absentee ballots,” tweeted Trump campaign spokesman Tim Marteau.

“We have strategically decided to restructure the proceedings to rely on allegations of violations of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Equal Protection Clause,” the campaign said in a statement Monday.

However, the Trump campaign does not make that claim for hundreds of thousands of mailings and absentee ballots. Instead, the revised proceedings cover the practice of giving voters the opportunity to revise mail votes that were to be disqualified for professionalism. Some Democratic counties allowed voters to do so, but Republican counties did not, claiming that Democratic voters were treated more favorably than Republican voters.

The Associated Press on November 7 called Biden’s presidential contest after deciding that the remaining votes left to be counted in Pennsylvania would not allow Trump to catch up. Trump refused to admit.

In the lawsuit, before the election day, the “heavy democratic county” violated the law, identifying defective mail ballots such as the inner “secret envelope” and the outer envelope without voter signatures. I accused him of doing so. Fix it and make sure that the votes called “healing” are counted.

The Republican county “has been deprived of many rights by not providing notification and treatment processes in accordance with the law,” the proceedings said.

Cliff Levine, a lawyer representing the Democratic National Committee seeking intervention, said the number of voters given the opportunity to revise the ballot was unknown and nothing was illegal.

But he said it was minimal and certainly less than the margin that separates Biden and Trump (almost 70,000).

“The numbers aren’t even close to, or even close to, the margin between the two candidates,” Levine said.

In any case, there is no provision in state law that prohibits the county from helping voters correct ballots that contain technical flaws. Mr Levine said the proceedings did not include allegations that someone voted illegally.

“They should sue the county that really didn’t allow (voters) to make corrections,” Levine said. “The goal is to make sure that every vote is important.”

Democratic Secretary of State Kathy Bookbar, the chief election officer of Pennsylvania, responded in court on Sunday, asking the judge to dismiss the case. State courts have proper jurisdiction over this subject, and the proceedings do not include “a plausible claim of remedy for any legal theory,” the state attorney wrote.

Over 2.6 million mail votes have been reported to have been received by the county, with no reports of state or county election authorities or fraudulent prosecutors or other count accuracy issues.

An important theme for Trump and his supporters is that Philadelphia, a Democratic fortress that Trump was badly defeated, did not allow Trump campaign representatives to view mailing and absentee ballot processing and counting. It was their claim.

However, Republican lawyers have admitted in another federal court procedure that there are accredited observers who are monitoring mail votes being processed in Philadelphia. Governor Tom Wolfe’s administration said that voting observers from all parties had observers throughout the process, “otherwise any hint is a lie.”
