Phoenix (AP) — Former President Donald Trump has given his influential support in the race for Arizona’s Chief Election Commissioner.
On Monday, he supported Congressman Mark Finchem in the Tucson region, who was in a riot on January 6 and worked to reverse Trump’s 2020 loss. In a crowded Republican primary, it can be very important to the Secretary of State.
Seats are vacant while Democratic incumbent Katie Hobbes is running for governor. Trump called Finchem a “true warrior,” and “pleasedly said he didn’t have the courage that most others say.” Finchem took Trump’s lawyer to Phoenix after the election and broadcast a fake allegation of fraud related to the 2020 election.
