Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — Colorful rooms lined with pillows and stuffed animals on the walls. In a simple setting, one of Sherry Valenzuela’s young daughters found peace after her father died.
“My daughter had a constant problem of sadness, whether it was anger or sadness, for all the children who lost a special person. She needed a place to release. “Valenzuela said.
To NiditoIs a non-profit organization that has served Tucson for 25 years and was life-changing for Valenzuela and her daughter. They visited the center twice a month to deal with their grief and meet others who were experiencing similar difficulties.
“It was a very special experience for us. It was a very important experience for my daughter. I wanted to give back to this organization and be there for the other children in need.” Said Valenzuela.
Valenzuela is now volunteering at the center and leading a group of children. Right next to the corridor, parents are receiving their own support.
“Understand the full range of emotions. Someone may have a good day. Someone may have a bad day. Throughout the group, you will feel love, care and sincere support.” , Said Sylvia Quigley’s To Nidito Volunteer.
Quigley volunteers to lead a group of adults who joined many years ago. Tu Nidito’s service is completely free, and at the heart of it, according to Quigley, is a place where you can come back at any time.
“No one is judging you. No one is imposing a time frame on you. You are sad at your own time, in your own way. I think it’s beautiful,” Quigley said. It was.
