According to Tucson police, a 19-year-old woman died in a driving-impaired accident early Sunday morning, and the driver and two other passengers were also sent to the hospital.

According to police, Calista Layanne Segura was a 2012 Ford Fusion passenger who crashed into a traffic light pole on South Mission Road in Weststar Pass Boulevard. Five others in the car were also injured.

According to police, the car driver was disabled and the other two passengers were seriously injured and taken to Banner University Medical Center. Two more passengers were treated at the crash site due to minor injuries.

Police said in a news release that the driver headed south on the mission at high speed, failed to negotiate a curve and collided with Paul.

Investigations are underway, but police said on Monday that they would pursue criminal liability once the driver was released from the hospital.
