Turea, CA (KFSN)-A girl in South Valley with leukemia had the opportunity to realize her dream job by becoming the first responder of the day.

Turea police and firefighters showed Erie a rope through the Make a Wish program on Wednesday.

According to the program organizer, Erie gets excited every time she sees a police car or fire truck when she hears her father’s voice. She has always admired police officers and firefighters.

The day began with police escorts from her house to the station. Then she received her uniform and tried her hand on her dispatch.

From there she headed to the fire station, where she visited the fire station and had a lot of activities.

She participated in her own training and put out the “fire”.

“When she sees different things and experiences different things, they see her brighten up,” said Ashley Sodergren of Make a Wish. “It fills our hearts at the same time, and it’s a great opportunity to give back to the community.”

Between police and fire training, Erie enjoyed a lunch featuring all of her favorites, including pizza, oreo, and sprites.

At the end of the day she was returned home in a limousine.
