Tulsans enjoy hot Thanksgiving meals across the area – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa, Oklahoma —Thursday, an organization across Tulsa provided the community with a hot Thanksgiving meal.

Last year, the pandemic left people away, but with so many people finally getting together and celebrating, this Thanksgiving meal became even more special.

Hundreds of Talsan enjoyed free turkey, macaroni and cheese, green beans, pies and all the other Thanksgiving staples at Victory Church.

“Victory Church has been doing this for over 19 years. It gives people who have nowhere to go instead of being depressed at home. We say we are here to be your family.” Said Rev. Maria Clinkscale.

And this year, the feeling of being together is different.

Victory Church volunteer Patrick Thompson said, “It’s far more sentimental to see faces that haven’t been seen for a while gather and serve.”

In the Salvation Army, the meals they provided gave parts of the community an exit for Thanksgiving meals that were not otherwise available.

“This meal is definitely a blessing because it gives us a normal feeling,” said Zachary Langdon.

As part of this holiday, everyone regrets their gratitude.

“I’m grateful to be somewhere stable because my family is together,” Langdon said.

“I am very grateful to my family,” said Rev. Clinkscale.

Both the Shori Church and the Salvation Army say they are grateful to be able to serve this meal to the community.
