Tarlock (CBS13) —According to authorities, people attending Tarlock’s sideshows have begun to ride fire trucks and attempted to pull out fire hoses.
According to police, a Turlock firefighter was on duty Wednesday after 11 pm and was caught in a traffic jam near West Monte Avenue and North Berkeley Avenue for a side show. Some bystanders who seemed to be involved in the side show landed on the fire engine.
Firefighters say people started riding fire trucks and tried to pull out some of the fire hoses.
The firefighters then turned on the emergency overhead lights, honked the horns, dropped the people and fled.
Police say the fire engine was able to escape the crowd. The firefighter then pulled it to a safe place, fixed the loose fire hose, and continued the shift. No injuries have been reported.
The officers immediately attended the sideshow, but realized that it was already dispersed.
Tarlock police say they are actively investigating the case.
