Police in St. Louis arrested two people and another woman they said took the sights of St. Louis Bruce, who was shot at Gateway Arch Park.
An unnamed 20-year-old player seems to have been resting from Bruce’s rookie camp and visiting the arch on Monday when he faced a gunman with a 22-year-old woman. The thieves stole their phone and car keys, as well as the player’s wallet and the woman’s wallet, before escaping.
Police announced this morning that they had detained 19-year-old Christopher Franklin and 18-year-old Kanya Sloan. Police are seeking charges of primary robbery and armed criminal proceedings and are applying for a warrant at a traveling law firm.
After the robbery, Bruce issued a short statement confirming that one of the victims was their outlook.
“Our players in St. Louis for our rookie camp are safe because the local government is working to arrest the suspect,” said Doug Armstrong, president and general manager of St. Louis Bruce at Hockey Operations. Statement is partly stated.
The well-known robber was the black eye of the city. After a handful of recent shootings and other crimes, Mayor Tishaura Jones announced on Tuesday that the city would deploy an additional 30 police officers to downtown police for at least six weeks. As part of its efforts to make downtown safer and change the perception of lawlessness, the city is also launching new partnerships with private companies. Downtown involvement and public security initiatives, It hopes to offer more food and cultural events, often hoping to fill sparse downtown nights with activities.
