Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — After closing in March 2020, the University of Arizona Museum of Art is open to the public at a new exhibition.

“I’m happy to see the people in the museum interacting with art,” said Olivia Miller, the museum’s exhibition curator.

The new exhibition at the museum Food art.. Miller said the exhibition was perfect for Tucson.

“The food theme has come to my mind a bit because it’s relevant to everyone,” says Miller. “It leads to the University of Arizona and all the research done here, and of course, Tucson with all of the rich food history here.”

The collection’s owner, Jordan Schnitzer, said the exhibition has artwork and artists from different eras.

“There are 30 artists here representing some of the biggest names in the last 50 years,” Schnitzer said. “Cory Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, many of them. All use food at work and they all make us look at food differently.”

According to Schnitzer, there is something in this exhibition for everyone.

“Bring your child, your nephew, and your grandparents. It’s a show that pleases everyone between the ages of 2 and 102,” Schnitzer said. “I think they will smile, frown, bewildered, and do everything you do when you look at art. It tells us all different ways.”

The exhibition is open until March 20, 2022.
