Colorado Springs — For the first time in program history, UCCS Baseball is heading for the NCAA DIvII Regional Tournament.
On Sunday, the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee announced 42 teams to participate in the 2021 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.
At the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament, the Mountain Lions took fourth seed in a four-team regional tournament and faced RMAC’s enemy Colorado Mesa for the fourth time in less than a week.
CMU has won first place seed for the second year in a row, with conference champion Angelo State University (38-7) third and West Texas A & M University (32-7) No. 1 at the Lone Star Conference. 2 seeds.
UCCS will face CMU in the first round of the Double Elimination Tournament, the eighth match between the two teams this year. The Mountain Lions handed Mavericks three of the five defeats of the season. This includes the latest 18-9 wins to sign a deal in the RMAC Baseball Conference Championship.
Mountain Lions and Mavericks will play Game 2 on Thursday, May 27, at 5:30 pm (MT) / 7:30 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on the Angelo State University campus in San Angelo, Texas. ..
Winners of the South Central Region Tournament will advance to the NCAA National Tournament in Cary, North Carolina. The tournament will begin on June 5th at the American Baseball Association.
