Atlanta (CBS46) —University of Georgia cornerback Nyland Green was arrested early Wednesday morning for carrying weapons, property damage (twice), and reckless acts in the school district.

According to on-site case reports, UGA’s dispatch received a call on November 14 about a man running with a gun and perhaps “dry-fired” the gun at someone else. ..

Witnesses told police that they had seen two men quarreling shortly before 4:30 am and provided an explanation for the men. One of the witnesses told police that he was very familiar with the sound of “dry shooting” because he was on the fixie shooting team.

Police were able to determine that one of the men was green. They got an arrest warrant and tried to contact the soccer player. When they couldn’t do that, they contacted one of the coaches who said they would contact Green.

In addition to the black Beretta BB gun that police believe used in the case, the tan Colt M45A1 BB gun in his dorm room.

It is reported that the outer window of Basby Hall was damaged during the incident.

Freshman Green played in just three games for the bulldog this year. According to UGASports.com..
