Man thought dead in Philadelphia shooting was actually killed two days ago, officials say

“Information and additional evidence obtained through sources and corroborated by the Philadelphia Department of Medical Examiners indicate that murder victim Joseph Wummer, Jr. was murdered by suspected Kimbrady Carriker approximately 44 hours prior to the shooting. was found to have been committed,” Krasner’s office said. statement.

Philadelphia police responded to a 911 call about gunshots on South 56th Street around 2 a.m. on July 2, about 90 minutes after Wummer was believed to have been killed, officials said. Wummer’s body was not immediately found, however, as police were mistakenly dispatched to North 56th Street.
The two locations are about 3 miles apart and CBS News Philadelphia says.
“The grieving family has been briefed on this new information and I cannot adequately express the grief I feel,” Krasner said.
A 2-year-old and a 13-year-old were also injured in gunfire, while another 2-year-old boy and a woman were hit by broken glass during the riot, which hit a working-class neighborhood in southwestern Philadelphia. The deadliest violence in the nation occurred around the 4th of July holiday.
CBS News Philadelphia said those killed in the shooting were identified by authorities as Rashid Merritt, 20, Dimir Stanton, 29, Ralph Moralis, 59, and boy Dojan Brown, 15. reported to have been identified.
