Honolulu (KHON2) —Ukulele Festival Hawaii has announced a live stream of international artists for that purpose. International Day on Sunday, June 13 Prior to next month’s 51st Ukulele Festival Hawaii.

Ukulele players from Japan, South Korea, Scotland, England, Brazil, etc. have appeared.

Ukulele virtuoso Roy Sakuma and his wife Kathy started and produced the Ukulele Festival Hawaii for 50 years.

Sakuma handed over Produce event missions for Craig Chi and Sarah Maisel.. Qi grew up on Oahu.

Ukulele Festival Hawaii hosted a local spotlight live stream in April featuring ukulele performers such as Roy Ukulele Studios, Walt Kiel and Karae Camalillo.

In May, there was a livestreaming workshop day that included a session on code replacement and syncopation.

This International Day is the third livestream event prior to the main festival, which will be livestreamed on July 18, 2021 to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2022 festival will take place at the long-held Kapiolani Park.
